"I had been searching the Internet for the best pricing on Honda OEM parts when I was linked to Honda East. At the end of my purchase, a question came up asking if I intended to purchase a new bike any time in the future. I clicked yes. From that point on, I had been in contact with just about the most professional sales person I have ever come in contact with: Scott Johnson. There was never any pressure, haggling, or "wait, I need to check with my boss." "I purchased a Honda Shadow Sabre 1100 and Honda CRF70 on June 4th from Scott Johnson. What a great guy and what a pleasant experience. I discovered Honda East on Cycle Trader. I was originally looking for a Kawasaki Vulcan 900 and their price was too good not to give them a call. I talked to Scott and inquired about additional costs (prep/freight charges) because of their low price (local dealers were $1,000 more for the same bike + prep). Scott assured me that Honda East doesn't add those costs. I then obviously determined the 100 mile trip was worth the drive! So, to make a long story short, I look over the Vulcan and noticed a Honda Sabre with a ridiculously low price sitting 2 bikes down...and ended up purchasing that bike. I had just an awesome experience with no pressure to buy add-ons (service contracts) or anything at all. I even paid with a credit card with no additional fee. If you look at my invoice, all you'll see in the line of fees is tax, title, and a $75 doc. fee that covers both bikes. That's a far cry from the dealers in Detroit who tack on the $300-$500 prep/freight fees. I'm sold! I'll be a customer for life! Thank you!"

"Honda East Toledo, you rock. I wanted to let you and everyone else who will listen know how awesome an experience I had at your store. Especially when compared to my last "motor sports" experience. When my wife wanted to start riding cycles on the street last year, so we shopped around a lot and found the perfect bike. One thing we certainly did NOT find was the perfect dealer (i.e. NOT Honda East). It was a fight to negotiate a good deal and they played that "I’m going to fight for your price with the boss, who's behind THIS closed door" scam. It was pitiful. To top it all off, when we came back to give them the check and pick it up the next day, they tried to tack on ANOTHER $350 bucks! It was absolutely awful, and an experience I never want to repeat.

This year it was my turn for a new bike. I had done my homework and I knew exactly what I wanted. By chance and ultimately, a stroke of luck, I found it on the website of Honda East Toledo with a very handsome price already listed. I called down to Honda East to inquire about it and Robb Hovey picked up the phone. He gave me all the details with no pressure, and I asked him, if I was serious, could he beat the advertised price of another dealer with the same bike. He said he didn’t think it would be a problem. About a week later, after mentally preparing myself for another struggle with a motor sports dealer, I called Rob back. I was fully expecting that he wouldn’t talk final numbers unless I made the hour and a half drive and showed up there in person. But to my amazement, he did. Better yet, they were my numbers. I was shocked. When I asked if we could make it a one trip deal, he said "no problem." If I wanted to make it a short trip, he’d even start the paper work and I didn’t even need to leave a deposit over the phone. Sounded good. But I didn’t feel I was out of the woods until the bike was in my truck and I was headed home. So with the "once bit, twice shy" feeling I headed to Honda East on a Thursday afternoon, still apprehensive. But when I walked up to the showroom, there was the bike, parked out front and ready for delivery. A good first sign, I thought. When I found Robb Hovey inside, I introduced myself and he pointed me to their finance man, Rob Golden. I was prepared for the worst and fully expected that the numbers we talked on the phone would have changed by the time I showed up. A setup fee this, freight charge that, the next thing you know, we’d be $2,000 off. To my amazement, every paper had already been filled out, and, to the penny, the dollars were the same. I almost fell off the chair. I handed over my check, Rob Golden shook my hand and said rather matter of fact-like, "Congratulations, the bike's yours man." I asked, "That’s it?" Her replied, "That’s it."

Robb H. then took me outside, gave me the run-down on all the features and functions of my new machine and asked if I had any questions. He helped me load it up in my truck, tie it down, and then let me know if I needed anything, to give him a shout. I was at the dealership for less than 30 minutes.

Hats off to you Honda East Toledo. My experience and your integrity far exceeded my expectation. And you truly are THE BEST dealer for the informed customer.

"Though I have owned only 3 bikes before I purchased my Suzuki Boulevard C-50 limited in July, 2005, I have been riding motorcycles for 37 years. I knew what I wanted on a new motorcycle, but motorcycle dealerships with huge inventories of all of the bikes available, as well as a knowledgeable sales staff do not exist in Reno, NV. I did my research on the Internet, looking at all different types of bikes on cycletrader.com. Dealerships don't have sales manuals with all of the bike specifications, so I went to nadaguides.com and used their compare feature to compare all of the bikes that were available. In 2005 almost all of the motorcycles changed their styles, which made choosing a new motorcycle even more difficult. Using the Web almost exclusively, I decided the perfect bike for me was the Suzuki Boulevard C-50 Limited. No one in the state of Nevada had one in stock. A Reno dealer said that they could order one, but they would not deal on a bike that they had to order. They also gave a very high price quote. I went back to cycletrader.com and searched for C-50 limited, and many dealers were brought up on my search engine. I called several of the dealers and found that they were not as advertised, or there were hidden or unknown charges to the quote in their ad. Honda East was as advertised. Not only did they have the lowest advertised price out of all of the dealers listed, but they did not add on things such as dealer prep, dock fees, sales tax (I was an out of state customer), handling fees, crating fees, and a long list of other charges. Honda East advertised that they did not charge for these fees and they did not. The MSRP, without all of the extra charges that dealers add, for my bike was $6,999. Honda East's advertised price was $6,039. I did have to pay an extra $60 for the title and something else. This brought the total to $6,100. The sales tax is paid in the state where you register your bike. No one has control over that. Honda East had to order the bike, and it took a few weeks for them to find me one. I got a new bike with one mile on it, and saved over $1,000, as compared to the Reno dealer. When I got the bike, in the paperwork was a one time 20% discount on parts and accessories. I used the bike for several months, then ordered all of the things that I wanted to put on the bike. Overall, I saved about $300 on accessories, shipping included. Greg Albert of Internet sales is the person, with whom I dealt, and is a straight shooter. I can recommend him and Honda East. Not only did I get an excellent bike at an excellent price, but I did not have to put up with all of those pesky sales people. Thank you, Honda East."

"To the Honda East Sales Manager, I am writing to thank your sales team, specifically Jeff Eckman. A few weeks ago I decided to update from a pair of 2000 Sea-Doo RXDIs to a new pair of 2005 RXPs. I live about 40 miles north of Detroit. I have been generally dissatisfied with the sales and service at my local dealers and therefore have no return purchaser loyalty. I did begin shopping locally for prices on the new machines. After attaining what I believed to be the best price I would find, I gave a shot at calling Honda East in Toledo, OH. I figured that if you could beat my best price by enough to pay at least the gas on the way down, I would make the trip. My initial call led me to Jeff who promptly provided me with a quote that was worthy of the trip. Jeff handled all aspects of the purchase over the phone including loan applications, accessory purchases, extended warranty, and acquiring a Triton trailer for the boats. On the morning of delivery I received a call from Jeff, he left a message telling me of the Sea-Doo gas card offer, he had already handled running my loan through another bank, and I was already approved. This was a $1,000 unexpected bonus. Upon arrival the machines were clean and ready to go. The financial paperwork was all intact and Brian handled the closing very smoothly. While waiting for the final paperwork to get signed off, I found it very pleasing to be repeatedly asked by other sales staff members if there was anything that they could do to help me. Than when we went out to hook up and do final inspection I was again surprised by the extra effort by your team by providing the small extras that made the new Doos sea ready, fire extinguisher, whistle and distress flag. "Dear Tom, I want to thank you and your team at Honda East for getting my Z1000 back on the road. Thanks for answering all my questions and keeping me updated on repair progress. As this was a major engine repair job I was pretty nervous about what might happen. When I dropped my bike off, I met Brian in service. He listened to me, answered my questions, and somehow managed to leave me with the impression everything would be OK, which is hard to do because I am inherently nervous about having work done on my bike by others. Then I was informed Kawasaki would cover entire repair. To be honest, I did not expect this, as the bike was out of warranty and I am not the original owner. This was very good news and something I will remember when the time comes to buy another bike. Thank you, Kawasaki. It is great to see they stand behind their product. Finally, if it were not for the advice of my good friend Jim Sheldon (Trackoholics.com), I would not have found out about you guys and Honda East. I feel very fortunate to have good friends like Jim. If it weren't for his referral, this story would have almost certainly had a very different ending. Of course it would have been better if my engine didn't break in the first place. But since it did, I found out about Honda East. I now have a place I feel I can take my bikes to have work done and not worry about it. This is great for me as, these days, I barely have time to ride them and if I have to spend time working on them that translates to even less time for riding. So I am happy you guys are there for me.
